Electrodialysis reversible (EDR)

EDR reversible electrodialysis

Reversible electrodialysis, or electrochemical desalination, is an advance in electrodialysis (ED) treatment and water desalination. Electrochemical desalination – a major advance in ED – will soon become the preferred method for removing salts from water. What exactly is electrochemical desalination? It is a process that removes salt from water by transporting ions through selective ion-permeable membranes.

The combination of low-pressure membrane technology and advanced design, provides higher levels of recovery with lower energy requirements compared to conventional methods (RO reverse osmosis).

  • recovery of concentrate from RO,
  • treatment of wastewater from cooling circuits,
  • TDS reduction for salt water,
  • application for streams with variable salinity,
  • hardness removal – softening.
