Electrodeionisation (EDI)

EDI electrodeionisation

Electrodeionisation is a combination of electrodialysis (ED) and demineralisation on ionite beds (DI). By using a mixed system, we achieve the elimination of the disadvantages associated with each of these methods separately. Electrodialysis was characterised by high electricity consumption and poor quality of the final product, while demineralisation required the use of chemical reactants and produced aggressive effluents. EDI obtains demineralised water with high quality parameters, without the use of chemicals and with low electricity consumption.

Electrodeionisation technology (EDI) is a modern and fully automated method of purifying demineralised water.

  • complete removal of inorganic solute,
  • eliminating the formation of aggressive waste water,
  • high output quality,
  • small installation size,
  • economical operation,
  • fully automated,
  • simple and continuous operation
